Immerse yourself in the art of shorebirds. Join World Championship winner Tommy Stewart and deep dive into the process of creating shorebird patterns, starting with some reference photos and a pencil. You will be examining references and understanding the visual path to shorebird anatomy, form, and proportions. Special emphasis will be placed on balance, feather groups, eye, and bill placement.

- Exacto Knife
- Cutting board to protect the table top
- Sketch book
- Metric ruler (preferably flexible)
- Any shorebird reference photo you're interested in making a pattern with (Optional)
About the Artist: Tommy Stewart is a contemporary shorebird carver and painter. His concentration and discipline is centered around his life-like qualities in his work, design, and composition. His most notable awards include the fellowship from the New York State Council of the Arts, three-time North American Shorebird Carving Champion, and, recently, first place in the Ward World Championship for interpretive wood sculpture.
