Location
Join master sculptor Josh Guge for this half-day hands-on class. Each student will dive into the fun process of shaping and manipulating clay. Unlike wood, clay is very forgiving. It can be added to or subtracted from in seconds. Clay modeling helps eliminate wasted carving time, prevents mistakes, and gives quick insight into the desired pose of the bird.
Students will learn:
* how to build an armature.
* how to work with clay and other sculpting materials.
* how to create emotion and posturing
* a better understanding of a wildfowl anatomy.
Supplies that students are responsible to bring to the workshop:
1. Calipers/ measuring device
2. Pencils and paper for notes
3. Assorted sculpting tools
4. Metal cutting scissors
5. Device for picture taking (Video recording not allowed)
6. Bird study cast- 6 inches long or less. (the cast will be used as a model to replicate in clay).
